UMTS RF Optimization Service Discription

3S Network RF optimization team consists of:
  1. in-market experienced optimization drive teams and functioning drive test equipment to support the tasks required by the client
  2. Processors and senior RF Engineers to process and analyse data collected by drive test teams
  3. A designated lead for each and every specific market
  4. A Project Manager to oversee entire operation
Turnkey process:
A. Sector testing:
1. Create sector tests routes
2. Verify scrambling code of each sector
3. Verify successful call origination and handoff between sectors of a node and neighboring nodes
B. Cluster testing:
1. Create cluster test routes
2. Determine initial neighbour
3. Using Test UEs, collect drive test data along agreed upon cluster routes to verify the performance of UMTS voice, video and data
4. Process the drive test data and produce KPI report in the required format
 
RF Optimization

As part of the turnkey optimization, the initial drive of the cluster will serve as a baseline of cluster performance (cluster drive testing, data processing, KPI generation). Subsequent drive route may be reduced depending on the results of the baseline and with sufficient substantiation to get approval of the customer.

RF Optimization

 Provide in-market experienced optimization RF Engineers with the requisite tools to perform analysis of drive test data and generate recommendations on how to improve performance.

Perform the review of initial database parameter settings and create initial neighbor lists. Based on drive test data results, recommend any necessary adjustments, such as: Azimuth or Tilt changes

Perform cluster optimization;

Analyze drive test data to meet agreed-upon KPI metrics with the customer.

Perform root cause analysis of drive test results that do not meet optimal RF performance. Make recommendations for parameter adjustments, neighbour list changes, site configuration (tilt/height/azimuth) changes, scrambling code offset changes, other modification required to improve performance

Where measurements indicate possible installation errors, notify the deployment team or the designated Engineer.

Repeat the process for market-wide (Market drive) drive testing.

· Provide a summary report of optimization results (including a detailed analysis of failure or any other item in the report for which the customer requests a more detailed explanation)
